Over the weekend, I had a chance to watch a few movies
online. One of those movies was Casino Royale, a movie which was released over
7 years ago to much fanfare surrounding the arrival of a new blond haired James
Bond character which was to be played by Daniel Craig.
I’m a big fan of the
series even before this latest reboot and remember watching Timothy Dalton,
Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan efforts the second they reached the theatre.
However, I was never fortunate enough to watch a classic Sean Connery James
Bond film in the theatre, due to the fact, I wasn’t old enough, although I have
had many opportunities to watch his films online and enjoy them now that I am
older.
In 2006 when Daniel Craig was first introduced to the
general public as the new face of James Bond there was much criticism of using
a blond haired actor to play a role in which they had become accustomed to
watching darker haired actors take the role.
I didn’t think much of it, and was willing to give the new actor a
chance. After viewing in the theatre, I was so enthralled with the acting as
well as the lightening fast action, that second viewing was required as well
once the picture was available for online viewing watching it there was also
mandatory.
The great news was that just within another short two year
span, a sequel was released called “Quantum of Solace” and that also delivered
serious action for all James Bond fans, however failing to deliver on the
acting and story front. Not to be outdone, the 2012 release of “Skyfall” marked
the apex of the Daniel Craig reboot of the series providing excellent acting
not only from Daniel Craig, but also from Dame Judi Dench and antagonist Javier
Bardem. Must say it was a fantastic movie to watch and now online from
beginning to end.
